I have chosen to research these three Genres of magazines as i am interested in them all and don’t yet know which genre/genres i want to focus on. I Have researched each Genres sales on average per issue circulation during the first 6 months of 2014 because its up to date facts that will show me what is making certain magazines in each genre more popular that others. This will therefore result in me being able to produce the best magazine in which ever genre i choose.

Breaking Bad Audience Profile

Breaking Bad Audience Profile

Median age of viewer's :45
First 2 series : channel 5 and AMC
2+ series on Netflix (monthly subscription)

Demographic information
Due to the content of the series (drugs and other illegal activities), it would suggest that the target audience of the series would be aimed at perhaps younger males. Due to its content it may offend older people or people with different ethnicity or even people who are upper class and have higher education.

Social Grades
A Higher Managerial
B intermediate managerial
C1 junior managerial
I have suggested that these are the social grades that would be in the target audience for breaking bead because of the fact that it is now on netflix and unless illegally downloaded it can only be viewed if paid for. Having netflix is not a necessity but a luxury and would more commonly be subscribed by people who earn more, therefor the people who are in the higher social grades.

Pros and Cons of Film Piracy from the View of Consumers and Industry

Film Piracy

Consumer

Pros
-Free Films for the public
-Easy to get
-Able to watch a movie before its release
-No travel involved so its easier

Cons
-There may be missing footage
-Bad picture quality
-Bad sound quality
-Refunds for bad products may not be allowed
-Its illegal and if you sell the pirated copies you may be fined or go to prison

Industry

Pros
- Early release contribute to publicity and therefore there will be more sales (Exaple : X Men Origins:Wolverine)
-Fran Djoukeng says no: piracy is a cheap, efficient way to spread the word among the public and generate hype from a variety of sources. (http://silverchips.mbhs.edu/story/9249)
-“Ms Croxson points out that piracy poses a threat to sales only when those who otherwise would buy become tempted instead to copy. In any market there are some who value the product but never would buy. Their piracy cannot harm the seller.” (http://www.ox.ac.uk/media/news_stories/2008/080317.html )

Cons
-The industry loses money
-Jenna Bushnell says yes: piracy is a criminal activity that saps millions of dollars in revenue from an already-struggling industry. (http://silverchips.mbhs.edu/story/9249
